Gender parity has been a growing issue across the nation. A  study  released June 27 by Actors Equity shows that women find fewer work opportunities and draw lower salaries than their white male counterparts. The study  examined employment data for shows that opened between 2013 and 2015. It is in line with an article in the Oct. 16 edition of American Theatre that notes that women wrote just 26 percent of plays in the 2015-16 season.
