Food will also figure into the design of the rooms which will have expanded areas for dining with meals prepared by private chefs although there will also be a restaurant for public dining, the 150 seat Café Fauchon. Otherwise, the 60 rooms, of which 20 will be suites, will be designed in contemporary style and all will have views over Place de la Madeleine or Boulevard Malesherbes. The hotel’s overall construction, the combination of two historic Haussmann buildings previously housing the Baccarat boutique, is being overseen by architect Richard Martinet who was responsible for the creation or renovation of four other Paris palace hotels, the Peninsula Paris, the Hotel Shangri-La Paris, the Hotel de Crillon and the Hotel George V. The reported cost is 40 million euros.

“Only 14 per cent of food waste is recycled so WMRAS supports efforts to convert food waste to either compost or water for discharge. This is to make our living environment more sustainable because even if we incinerate food waste, it will produce ash for the Semakau landfill which will run out of space by 2035 to 2040,” said Mr Edwin Pang, executive director of WMRAS

We took a look at the space earlier this week and found it to be, as promised, in a similar stratosphere as other amenity-rich theaters, like Alamo Drafthouse and iPic. While there’s no in-theater food and drink ordering, there’s a curated array of concessions (Melt Ice Cream Sandwiches, Sweet & Sara Vegan Smores, Bronx Pretzel, etc.) plus a bar with craft beers, wine and cocktails and fare like salads, tacos and sliders.

As the wife of a heart-attack survivor, I’m always trying to keep up with what the most recent science is regarding nutrition. Suffice it to say, this is not easy as there are a million different opinions out there and most of them can cite this study or that personal experience as proof. I try to stay pretty mainstream with what I follow, but it’s scary to wonder if you are doing the right thing or not.
However, that being said, most of what appears in this article regarding these ten foods seems to be pretty much agreed upon across the board.
If heart disease runs in your family, please stay on top of info like this. It’s so important to watch what we consume and I personally think most of us often eat mindlessly and really don’t give enough credence to the effect simple nutrition has on our bodies. My main advice that I now follow: EAT REAL FOOD I try to avoid any and all processed or convenience food. But read this article & others like it for yourself, and please – treat your bodies well. 🙂
The top 10 foods listed in this article are:
- Fast-food burgers
- Processed and cured meats
- Deep-fried foods
- Soft drinks and sugar-sweetened juices
- Sugary cereals
- Cookies and pastries
- Meat-lovers pizza
- Diet soda
But please, read the article & get the details – it’s not quite as cut-and-dry as listing the ten, you need to understand the nuances behind each one.
