By far Nantucket has the best Fourth of July celebration I’ve every experienced. I’ve been to many different locations across the USA during this holiday and this is the best of all of them.
My favorite part is the huge water fight that takes place on main street with fire hoses and hundreds of people. Take a peek at the photos for an idea as to what this holiday is like “on island”. These are from 2004.
One of my favorite things about Nantucket is the flowers. Their everywhere. Every charming little home seems to have an adorable garden, every hidden path seems to be framed by wild flowers and the air is thick with their perfume.
It’s just another reason this island is so special.
The Nantucket Daffodil Festival, or “Daffy Days” is held at the end of April each year and it’s an event like no other I’ve had the pleasure of attending.
